The harsh realities that come with CORONA VIRUS #COVID19TZRealities — Part 1

This is an illustration of the impact COVID-19 currently has had on a small business based on a true story of a Tanzanian female entrepreneur (alias Dada Tatu) who owns a food business and sustained it through catering to staff and employees of 3 companies (company X, Y and Z).

The COVID-19 virus pandemic has hit the world hard, with countries battling and struggling to mobilize for national precautionary measures, maintain order and just keep its citizens alive really.

Most of the narrative has been based on keeping people safe, as it should, and encouraging efforts towards flattening the curve, with some countries and organisations resorting to major decisions such as lockdown and total shutdown of operations. However, as we focus on the health aspect, as we should to keep people alive; The severity and magnitude of the situation calls for a multi-dimensional approach in terms of relief and responses to different affected livelihood aspects drawing from their specific contexts. There is no homogeneous relief response to the many different realities hitting the masses across the globe, and specifically in Tanzania.
