A Response to January Makamba’s questions for Tanzania’s CSO Week

Tanzania is currently celebrating it’s Civil Society Organisations Week in Dodoma and I don’t know about you but it’s what is trending in my timelines in at least the 3 major social media platforms I engage with (Twitter, Instagram and Facebook).

As a recently joined CSO member (Yes The Launchpad Tanzania is also an NGO now), I have been following the celebrations closely, if anything just to find out who is doing what in the field as we are always looking for synergies and partnerships.

Apart colorful photos and informative sessions that have been shared throughout, the most interesting part to me were the questions raised on the Twitter platform by our very own January Makamba a.k.a Kaka Janu, a.k.a our Twitter Darling…and these questions made me go mmmh! Definitely food for thought even for new bies like us.

In a joking response to the thread he posted, I repeated what I was told when I asked the same questions offline to some of the members of the participating CSOs… ‘You sound bitter Carol’….still trying to wrap my head around why genuine questions for a genuine cause get misconstrued as bitterness, and how one can even afford to be bitter in such a big agenda like COMMON GOOD.

However, I thought it would be more interesting to give my 2 cents on Kaka Janu’s questions and see if somehow I can articulate my thoughts on the same without being misunderstood as bitter again. Now I warn you, somewhere in there even I struggle with who I should side with and so I…
